I Want This At Home

I Want This At Home

I Want This At Home is a project about appropriation in art. Inspired by the concepts in Jean Baudrillard’s Simulacra and Simulation, and Guy Debord’s The Society of the Spectacle, I am exploring how images can be manipulated easily and form representations of representations that are believable but far away from reality. The posters are made by turning famous architectural buildings into furniture pieces. They are specifically made to look like commercials in order to convey how consumerism and advertisement are contributing to creating new layers of reality.
