“The ants in my chest / will not sleep / tonight—”
If You See My Brain in Somnia
The ants in my chest
will not sleep
tonight—
unfinished lists
subverted kisses
myths of thought
waves if to trust is a
strength I am weak
in the back of my closet
snapped cds weep
tendonitis highest c’s
I throw my brain into the ocean.
Rings of water expand;
each molecule
forms a wave,
hurls itself into the future.
Ants
in bygone chest
crawl towards my skull.
I watch the dogs sleep.
