“Indulgence,” an interactive installation, includes a user-generated text that feeds off of the confessions of sins—or what should be classified as “sins.” The dada poem that comes out of it signifies their meaning, or the lack of it. While it does not intend to minimize the aspect of responsibility for one’s actions, it attempts to reveal that the culturally and historically condemned practices or concepts are quite possibly arbitrary and, their existence in a certain text that’s given importance or support by certain authorities that are held to have a position closer to the Divine source than the rest does not merit them absolute power.
