An exploration of anonymity and fashion.
The Invisible Woman
The photos in this portfolio originally appeared in Guise, a collaborative magazine created in the spring 2014 course "Creating a Magazine: A Multimedia Approach," co-taught by Professor Lise Friedman and Professor Molly Kleiman.
"The Invisible Woman" explores the manner in which anonymity can be beneficial to telling the narrative of a fashion shoot. The story follows a woman wrapped in gauze struggling to cope with going unnoticed regardless of her flamboyant wardrobe choices. The mission of the shoot is to allow the reader to view and process the presented clothing design without being distracted by who is wearing the clothing, simultaneously allowing the reader to insert him or herself into the story. By focusing on a subject that is anonymous, the overarching theme of hidden identity in the magazine was abstractly and artistically echoed.
