Waterfront 2017

“Waterfront 2017” was originally created in Professor Jeff Day’s Fall 2017 Arts Workshop, <a “href=https://gallatin.nyu.edu/academics/courses/2017/FA/arts-ug1481_001.html”>“Photograph New York at the Water’s Edge.”
“The lighting by the water is unrivaled, making it ideal for portraiture. I would photograph my classmates and crew on our class excursions. As the semester progressed, I started to bring my family and friends along with me for my adventures and began photographing them as well. My series of photos became more about the joy and happiness that the water brings people. The waterfront is a peaceful place where people go to walk their dogs, collect their thoughts and simply just to relax. At the same time, the water can elicit feelings of vitality and adventure. I wanted to highlight these feelings and maximize them.”—Jenna Montag
