Jade Fusco's line drawings are the latest incarnations of characters and habitats that make up her invented realm called DMZL ("damsel"). Fusco has started translating her menagerie of illustrations into masks, costumes and puppets, and animating them in a musical-theatrical experience she calls DMZL Ritual Art Theatre. She hopes to continue building more elaborate, interdisciplinary environments through which these characters can tell stories and her art can continue to evolve. Jade Fusco was awarded a visual art prize in the Gallatin Review, volume 27, 2012.
