Looking for a Body

Looking for a Body

Looking for a Body centers around a loss of innocence—a loss of connection to the self and the other—and serves as my attempt to explain sound to unconscious entities. The weight of the unspoken is revealed in layers of music, words, and visual perspectives. As a response to dissociation, this piece reclaims memory and destabilizes time. The physical body is deconstructed and reassembled as a fusion of repetitive moments; movement and its integration invent materiality. The intimacy of direct address and portrait video grounds diverse instrumentals and visuals in a cohesive body, and split ends are pieced together in a synthesis of conflicting internal dialogues.
